Retired. Staff Sergeant. Alton Roberts Obituary

Mr. Alton Eugene Roberts of Newport News, Virginia was born to Mr. Orlando Warren and Ms. Mabel Roberts Brown on August 31, 1954 transitioned to his heavenly home on January 8, 2025 at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton. Virginia.  His dedicated spouse Mrs. Roberta Clark Roberts was at his side when he transitioned.

Mr. Roberts born in Baltimore, MD was a graduate of Patterson High School and attended Ohio State University.  Afterward he would enlist in the United States Army.  Alton attained the rank of E5 before being honorably discharged.  During his military service Alton received lasting effects that would classify him as a Disabled Veteran. After the military Alton continued his education at ECPI and graduating with an Associate’s Degree from Thomas Nelson Community College.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darryl Brown, grandmother Mable Roberts, 3 uncles, James, Harry and Eddie Roberts all of Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Roberta Clark Roberts of Newport News; 1 sister Mable Brown Burke of Baltimore, MD and 2 brothers Carroll (Kim) and Earl Brown, both of Columbia, MD.  Alson left to cherish his memories are Jannett, Brenda and Darlene of Maryland; a host of nieces and nephews and cousins; and special friend John K of York County, VA.

It is the desire of the Roberts family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
