Petty Officer Rodney Allen Dandridge
On June 1st, 2020, after a long and difficult battle with cancer, Rodney Allen Dandridge climbed the stairs to heaven. Born at Riverside Hospital on November 1st, 1966 to Mollie (Pierce) and Thomas Lorenzo Dandridge Sr.
Rodney is survived by his wife of thirty two years, Debbie, son Christopher S, daughters Shamona M and Sharee L (Pebbles), mother Mollie (Pierce), sisters Michelle, Jackie (spouse Wendell), Mardis of Indiana, Rev. Debra Bryant of Hampton, his brother Thomas Lorenzo Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews whom he all loved a great deal. Rodney is preceded in death by his father Thomas Lorenzo Sr., brothers Kevin P, Christopher M., sister Sandra and stepson A.J.
A graduate of Tabb High School, Rodney entered the United States Navy. Upon leaving the military, Rodney pursued a career in the culinary field. An avid sports fan, Rodney played various sports throughout his educational and military career. Rodney also had a great passion for music and art. Rodney always offered a hello and smile everywhere he went and brought the life into a room with his bright, blinding smile and laugh. Rodney will be greatly missed by those that loved and knew him.
A memorial service will be held noon to celebrate his life of Rodney on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Edward Boston, Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church.Yorktown, VA. Mr. Carlos Combs will be rendering selections.
