The beautiful spirit of Mrs. Valerie (Val) Justina Hall was born on 28 September 1966 in Chattanooga,
Tennessee to the late Edna Pearl Jackson and James Jackson. She began her sunset transition on 7
June 2025 at Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton, Virginia after 58 full years of life.
Early Life and Education
Val graduated from William C. Overfelt High School in San Jose, CA. She pursued a path of higher
education and earned a degree in Pharmacy.
Employment
Valerie was a hard working woman and was employed throughout her entire life. Starting from a young
age, she worked in food, hospitality, and customer service positions throughout the industry. This gave
her well-rounded experience in adaptability and bringing light and love to the needs of others. Val also
held a position in the education sector as a school bus attendant for Hampton City Schools, reflecting
her loving touch in areas of patience, empathy, and active listening.
Life in Christ
Val accepted Christ at an early age and grew into a mature disciple of Christ much like her mother
Edna. She was a member of Pillar of the Word Ministries for 25 years. She served the church
throughout her years by participating in several roles such as a deaconess, altar worker, armor bearer,
pastor's aid, usher, member of women's fellowship, and serving on the finance committee.
Legacy and Impact
Val positively touched many souls throughout her life and lives on through her siblings, Everett (Aida)
