Mrs. Toni L. Shirley was born on November 29, 1961. Toni entered in eternal rest on December 31, 2025 at Mary Immaculate hospital in Newport News, Virginia. Toni was a native of Gary, Indiana and a graduate of West Side high school, Class of 1980, in Gary, Indiana. She resided in Newport News, Virginia for 25 years, then relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. One of Toni's biggest asset was that of a caregiver. She will be dearly missed.

Toni was preceded in death by her son, Deon Shirley; her mother, Juanita Ratney; her granddaughter, Kamille Shirley and her husband, Darren Shirley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Darren Artis (Sarina) of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Shirley (Kiara),  Deandra Pope (Markel), both of Newport News, VA;  her brothers, Arthur Artis, Jr. (Arndrell) of Newport News, VA, Alex Artis (Cynthia) of Milwaukee,  WI, Sajata Hines (Stanley) of Indiana; her father, Arthur Artis, Sr. (Deborah). of Gary, IN; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson; two nieces and a host of family and friends.

It is the desire of the Shirley - Pope families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  

The family of Ms. Toni Shirley has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
