Ms. Tilisa Cooper Obituary

Tilisa “Teensy” D. Cooper, 45, entered eternal rest on November 15, 2025, at her home
in Newport News, Virginia.


Tilisa was born May 1, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia to Hattie Cooper and Calvin
Fletcher Jr. She attended Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Heritage
High School in 1998.

Tilisa was employed by Langley Federal Credit Union, where she was known for her
kindness, warmth, and dedication. She was a member of Harvest Church, and her faith
was the foundation of her life. A God-fearing woman. Tilisa’s belief in the power and
the grace of God never wavered even during the toughest trials. Her faith inspired everyone
around her.


Family meant everything to Tilisa. She had a gift for cooking, planning and hosting
family events, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She loved being a
grandmother and took immense pride in her children. Tilisa was also an avid
Washington Redskins, fan, cheering passionately for her team season after season.


Above all, Tilisa will be remembered for her beautiful smile and vibrant personality- a
light that could brighten any room. Her presence brought joy, comfort, and laughter to all
who knew her.


Tilisa’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be forever loved and
deeply missed by all who knew her.


Tilisa was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Thelma Deloatch and Phyllis
Fletcher; her aunts, Jacqueline Deloatch, Diane Deloatch, Wanda Deloatch, Phyllis Ivey
and Sandra Fletcher; her uncles, Timothy Deloatch and William Deloatch; and her
nephew, Daquon Lyons.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved children, Jakayla Bolden, Jordyn
Cooper, Janiah Cooper, Johnell Bolden Jr. and Tyjae Hedgepeth, her beloved
grandchildren, Kaior Bolden, Bella Cooper and Blake Cooper. She also leaves behind
her fur-baby, Benji, who was never far from her side, her parents, Hattie Cooper
(Iris Bailey) and Calvin Fletcher Jr., her siblings, Latonya Hawkins, Tamika Cooper,
Tamara Cooper and Tanishia Cooper, best friends, Cassandra Roberts and Sheree
Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
