Rest came to Mother Sylvia Waddell Debroux on Friday, January 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by love ones. Sylvia was born December 14, 1937 to Samuel Codwell and Lottie Waddell Tinsley of Danville, VA. She resided on the Peninsula in Newport News and Hampton. Working at NASA on Langley Air Force Base and the Dew Drop Inn (owned by her close friends, the late David and Lucille Garrett). She was the Mother of New Livingwell Bible Church under overseer Joann Anderson for twenty years.
She preceded in death by her mother; late husband of forthy-six years James Thomas Debroux Jr., of Nashville, North Carolina; her brother Aaron Blackmore Waddell; her sister Shirley Mayo and two daughters Kimberly Debroux and Delores Debroux.
Legacy Sons: James T. Debroux, III of Virginia Beach; Adib Muhammad (Marvin Debroux) of Florida; Charles Debroux and Mark Debroux of Hampton; Aaron Debroux of New Jersey; Lathrain Debroux of Norfolk. Daughters: Pastor Diane Carr of Hampton; Caroline Samuels (Rodney) of Newport News; Linda Debroux of Williamsburg. One aunt Mary Helen Anderson Waddell, Best Friend Susan Stokes, twenty grandchildren, twenty-five greatgrandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
A walk through viewing for Mrs. Debroux will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at C. C. Carter Funeral Home. Inc.
Services for Mrs. Debroux will be held noon Saturday, February 6, 2021 at New Livingwell Bible Church 1245 North King Street, Hampton, VA. by Pastor Layne Waddell.( CDC guidelines will be followed).
Entombment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens
