Ms. Rosa Solomon Obituary

Ms. Rosa Helena Solomon was born on October 5, 1937, and peacefully entered eternal rest on December 31, 2025. She was an amazing woman whose life was defined by faith, love, devotion, and grace.

Rosa loved the Lord deeply and lived her life anchored in strong Christian faith. She was known for her strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family, always placing God and loved ones at the center of her life. Her love touched generations, and her legacy will continue through all who were blessed to know her.

Rosa was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent over 20 years working at the Newport News Ship Building, where she was respected for her reliability, excellence, and pride in her work. Earlier in her career, she worked for several years at Gloria Manufacturing Company, a sewing company where she developed and refined her sewing skills. She retired at an early age, allowing her to enjoy the fruits of her labor and focus on the things she loved most.

A woman of many talents and passions, Rosa enjoyed bowling, one of her all-time favorite hobbies, she also loved traveling, always excited to make lasting memories. Wherever she went, Rosa carried herself with confidence and style, taking great pride in her appearance and admired by all she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Junius and Everline Pearson; her son Geroge Solomon Jr.; and her siblings Roy, Jessie, and MacArthur Pearson and Annette Pearson-Ward.

Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memory of her children: Theodora “Nonnie” Lockett, Madige Campbell (Tyvan), and Vicky Jones.

She was a devoted grandmother to Kiah Campbell, Devin Mickens (Arecia), Brandon Campbell, George “Tray” Solomon III, Kayla Taylor (Tyvan), and Sedale Jones, and a proud great-grandmother to Treahnni Solomon, Aden Moore-Jones, Lamar and Logan Mickens, Kyro Campbell, and Parker and Mehki Taylor.

She also leaves to cherish her loving siblings, Hattie Mae Diggs, Victoria Nicholson, Emmitt Pearson, and Willie Pearson (Christine), along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Rosa’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, resilience, love, and grace. She poured herself into her family, her work, and everyone blessed to cross her path. Her prayers, wisdom, strength, and unmistakable style will be remembered for generations. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love lives on in the hearts she shaped, the lessons she taught, and the legacy she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered as a woman who loved fiercely, lived fully, and trusted God completely.

It is the desire of the Lockett, Campbell and Jones families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
