Ms. Priscilla K. Kelly

Ms. Priscilla Kelly, of Newport News, VA, peacefully departed this life on January 20, 2025. She was born on November 27, 1941, to the late John S. and Maple King.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her daughter, Eunice Ellsworth; son, Keith Kelly; six sisters, Rosetta Hill, Evelyn Banks, Shirley Johnson, Idella Johnson, Elaine Hill, and Audrey Johnson; and five brothers, Robert King, Cliff King, Emmanuel King, Ernest King, and Worthy King.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Amanda Brothers (Steven) of Tavares, FL; two sons, Alonzo Kelly (Evelyn) of Waldorf, MD, and Ronald Burwell, Jr. (Shenévia) of Hampton, VA; one sister, Constance Jackson (Tom) of Newport News, VA; eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Priscilla had an incredible gift for hospitality. She possessed a welcoming heart, and if someone needed a meal, she was always there to provide it. Her children fondly remember their home being the gathering place for family and friends, filled with love, laughter, and countless celebrations. Growing up, their home was a sanctuary for many, offering a safe place on her couch during difficult times. She never turned anyone away.

Even in her later years, while living in a senior community with limited resources, Priscilla continued to serve others with unwavering love and generosity. She would prepare meals for her elderly neighbors several times a year, especially during the holidays. With her trusty wagon, she delivered meals to anyone who wanted one—ensuring no one was ever left out.

Priscilla’s kindness touched countless lives, leaving an enduring legacy of love and compassion.

Priscilla will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
