Ms. Patricia Howard Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Patricia Diggs Howard announces her passing. She entered eternal rest surrounded by the love, prayers, and cherished memories of those whose lives she touched so deeply.

A woman of faith, strength, dignity, and unwavering devotion, Patricia lived a life rooted in love for God, her family, and her community. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was a steady source of wisdom, encouragement, and grace. Her life reflected quiet fortitude, especially in the way she cared for her family and carried herself with compassion, purpose, and faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Edward Diggs, Jr., and Dorothy Elizabeth Cooke Diggs;  and her siblings, Sandra Diggs Wilkins, Larry Diggs, and Ricky Diggs.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Darnell (Charese); Darryl (Sonya); Susan (Chester); Kelvin (Dalila); and Alvin (VaRonica). She is also survived by her two sisters, Clarissa Sedgwick (Ron), and Linda Delaney Davis, along with 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.

For over 50 years, Patricia was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Morrison, Newport News, VA, where she served as a member of the Deaconess’ Ministry, Greeters’ Ministry, and the Pastoral Care Ministry. Through her service, she welcomed others with warmth, kindness, and a spirit of hospitality that reflected her love for the Lord.

To know her was to witness a life of faith, resilience, and love. She poured herself into her family, stood strong through life’s challenges, and left a legacy that will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured and inspired.

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, wisdom, and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

It is the desire of the Howard family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
