Ms. Noralene Maxey Obituary

Ms. Noralene J. Maxey (Jeannie) was born August 20, 1955. Maxey as she was affectionally called by her friends, was born to Esther Mae and the late Wilbert Johnson in Halifax County, NC. Jeannie was the 2nd eldest child born to this union.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents both paternal & maternal, her aunt Mattie R Evans, her uncles Charles L Martin & Elijah Martin, Jr., Elder L.C. Kincaid and cousin Larry D Kincaid.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her mother Esther Mae Johnson, her poppy Jessie L Barrow, ex-husband Eric Maxey, two sisters Vernell Johnson Coles (Henry), Joan F Parker (James), two brothers Wilbert (Donnie boy) Johnson (Alice), Dwayne L Johnson (Shelly), three aunts Lora O. Kincaid, Verlene Person and Ernestine Brown (Alvin), 2 uncles Percy Martin, Lloyd Evans (Mattie)and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeannie received her education in the Newport News School System and worked as a Manager in the Retail Industry for more than 30+ plus years, ending her career in the Newport News School System.

 

Jeannie was a member of the Glorious Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Newport News, VA.

 

Jeannie was known for fashion sense and her willingness to help ANY and everyone. Jeannie was the families Ride or Die at anytime day or night, if you needed her, she was there, regardless of how she may have felt. Jeannie had a wealth of knowledge when it came to obtaining information for herself and others. Jeannie was extremely creative and talented. Jeannie never met a stranger, she loved to play BINGO and ride out with her aunt Ernestine (Tine) Brown and sister Vernell (Nae Nae). She will always be remembered for her willingness to extend a helping hand in times of need. Although she is not physically here on Earth with us anymore, may her light of kindness and love continue to shine through each one of us for many days to come. She was a beautiful and loving soul.

 

Viewing for Ms. Maxey will be held from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc.

 

Services and Interment will be private per family request. 

 

It is the desire of the Maxey family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
