Ms. Melissa Ann Tyler

Ms. Melissa Ann Tyler, at the age of thirty-three passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lois McQurter Tyler and sister Ashly Nicole Tyler. 

Melissa was born on September 11, 1991, in Newport News, VA to Reginald and Lois Tyler. She grew up and attended school in Newport News, VA. She attended Magruder Elementary School and the Achievable Dream Academy. Upon completion of high school, Melissa attended Norfolk State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She also earned two master’s degrees in criminal investigation and cyber security from Saint Leo University. 

Melissa was a social butterfly with fashionista tendencies. She could be unapologetically trueful. She loved to read, dance, and spend time with her godbrothers, godsister and those who called her Aunt “Tee Tee.” 

Melissa leaves treasured memories with her father, Regionald W. Tyler; sister, Kenisha Jones (Eric); brother, Jahmaal Johnson (Stephanie); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Melissa will be remember for her kind spirit and supportive ways.

It is the desire of the Tyler family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
