Mary Elizabeth “The Living Legend” Wakefall was born on July 20th, 1958 to the late Ben Wakefall and Johnnie Mae Wakefall in Newport News Virginia. Mary attended Ferguson High School where she participated in several sports such as Basketball and Karate just to name a few. Working was no issue for Mary, and she worked until her health started to fail her. Mary loved basketball and was a huge fan of Allan Iverson. She also loved football. She would have been celebrating until this day because she was a San Francisco 49ers fan! In her spare time, you could catch Mary enjoying time with her grandchildren and playing cards as well as enjoying time with family and friends. She is proceeded in death by her sister Barbara Jefferson and her baby Brother Ben Wakefall. She also leaves to cherish her memories 4 beautiful children
Latonya Slaughter (Johnnie) of Ahoskie North Carolina, Kimberly Wyatt (Willard) of Portsmouth Virginia, Lakeysha Hoyt (Kenneth) of Portsmouth Virginia and Levi Wakefall (tiera) of Newport News Virginia. She also had a special sister in law with whom she loved dearly Mary Wakefall of Ft Lauderdale Florida. Mary also had 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren along with a host of Nieces and Nephews. She will truly be missed and loved for Eternity.

Service for Ms. Mary Elizabeth Wakefall will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 3314 Roanoke Ave, Newport News, VA.
Per request of the family interment will be private.
