Ms. Lorrie Joe Ellinger, departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA. She was born on November 20, 1957 to the late Werner R. Lange and Delores Katherine Nelson. She is proceeded in death by two sisters Carleen Haddix and Sherry.
Lorrie graduated from Virginia School for the Death and Blind. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Unity Christian Church of Virginia under the leadership of her brother and sister in love Pastors Dunnell and JoAnn Wilson. She also was a faithful member of New Grafton Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Sparrow.
She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, going to the beach and cooking meals for her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She loved spending time with her daughter and son also. Lorrie was a great homemaker and loved riding in her power chair, she would be everywhere. She enjoyed working at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and Water Country.
Left to cherish her memories are her Main Man Samuel Dwight Wilson, two children Lorie Ann Loving and John Loving (Daonna Jones), two stepchildren Aphrodite C. Wilson and SFC Dwight R. Wilson (Stephanie). She is the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren: Kaila Loving, Ireque Loving, Leandra Overby, LaShaunna Overby, Zarina Loving, Anayia Williams, Na'imah Williams, Arielle Deloatch, Andre Wilson, Daimyen Wilson and Madilyn Wilson. One sister Debbie (John). Father and Mother in love Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wilson Sr. Three Sisters in love and five Brothers in love and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing for Ms. Ellinger will be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services for Ms. Ellinger are scheduled for noon Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc., by Pastor Dunnell Wilson.
Mask are required for entry into the funeral home and Social Distancing practices will be followed.
