Ms. Linda Davis

Ms. Linda Ann Davis was called home to rest on May 16, 2025. Linda, 69, was born March 16, 1956 to Mary Crayton and Howard Simms, Sr. Linda attended Hampton City Schools where she acquired her General Education Diploma and her CNA certification. In 1988, Linda married George Davis. 

Linda, among other things, was a down to earth and straight forward person. She enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, 60’s TV shows and listening to her rhythm and blues music. Linda was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA.

Preceding her in death are her husband, George Davis; parents, Mary Warren and Howard Simms, Sr.; sisters, Lavern Holland, Patricia Davis; brothers, Howard Simms Jr and Vernon Myers. 

She leaves to cherish her precious and fondest memories, two children, Darrell (Twanda) and Edward Simms of Virginia Beach. Seven grandchildren, Diamond Temple of Delaware, Tyara Cowan of Hampton, Zaniya Simms of Suffolk, Calvin Ellis of Virgina Beach, Guilford Granger of Green Bay, Devine Strickland of Norfolk, and Kiarra Simpson of Yorktown. Eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Crystal Womack (James) of Newport News, Virginia Jones of Georgia, and Angela Benson (Barrie) of Hampton; two brothers, Jerry Simms (Sheila) of Hampton, and David Simms of Hampton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

It is the desire of the Davis-Simms families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The family of Ms. Linda Davis has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
