Heather Eileen Jackson (née Urbano) was born in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, Sarah Lenore Dargitz Urbano and George Sagmani. In her early years, her family moved to Virginia, US, where she would begin planting the roots that grew into the loving, lively family she raised.
Heather married Luther McKinley Jackson Sr., and together they shared one child. She leaves behind her four children total: her oldest son, Luther Jackson Jr.; her sons Brandon Joyner and Darin Joyner; and her daughter, Brooklyn Joyner. She is also survived by her sister, Samantha Urbano; her nephew, Shawn Urbano; her niece Sariah Urbano-Windley; her brothers children niece Chelsea Urbano ; her nephew Ethan Urbano; her grandson Aiden Jackson and her daughter-in-law, Symone Jackson.
Heather was a fun-loving, joking, nurturing, and kind-hearted woman—until, as her family lovingly recalls, someone poked her fiery side. She cherished time spent with family, always laughing, joking, and being present with the people she loved most. In her later years, she was often accompanied by Elan, her spirited and affectionate wiener dog who brought her joy and comfort.
She treated many people as though they were family, regardless of blood, offering warmth, compassion, and acceptance to all who crossed her path. Her presence filled rooms; her love filled lives. She will be remembered always—with gratitude, laughter, and endless love.
It is the desire of the Jackson family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The family of Mrs. Heather Jackson has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
