Ernestine Armstrong, 72 passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024, at Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. She was born on October 28, 1951, in Newport News, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, William T. Armstrong Sr, and Ruth Tyler Armstrong and brother Wiliam T. Armstrong Jr.
Having lived a bountiful and blessed life, she is survived by her children, Cornelius Armstrong (Ebony) of Hampton Va. Jessica Taft (Se’Schaun) of Hampton Va. Six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her two sisters Ruth Jackson and Elizabeth Miller of Hampton Va. and one brother Edward Armstrong of Ga. and a host of nieces, and nephews.
Ernestine was a dedicated and hardworking individual who made a lasting impact on the world. For many years, she dedicated her life to her career at Dan Daniel Distribution Center and Cannon, where she eventually retired. Her colleagues hold dear memories of her for her tenacity and dedication to her work.
However, it was through her kindness and compassion that Ernestine truly shone. Known for her loving and generous nature, Ernestine found solace in helping others. Whether lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or providing words of comfort, she was always there for friends and family in their times of need. Her selflessness touched countless lives, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to have known her.
In her free time, Ernestine enjoyed indulging in her favorite hobbies. Listening to old school soul music ranked at the top of her list. Ernestine's fondness for food was no secret, and she always embraced new culinary experiences with her loved ones. Her infectious laughter and joy made every outing an unforgettable experience. Ernestine was a devoted mother to her children. She served as their greatest supporter, confidante, mentor, and role model, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. Her love and care for her children will forever be cherished and carried on through the generations as her beautiful legacy. Ernestine Armstrong will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Her warmth, compassion, and zest for life will continue to inspire and guide us as we navigate this world without her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at C.C. Carter Funeral Home. During this service, family and friends will gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Ernestine Armstrong.
