It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nique, who peacefully transitioned on February 4, 2024, at the age of 43 years old.
Nique was born on June 14, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia to Teresa Dixon and Jose Lowery. She lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family, friends, and community.
Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering optimism. Nique was known for her warm smile, infectious laughter, and her willingness to always lend a helping hand to those in need.
In her professional life, she worked at Huntington Ingalls Shipyard for over a decade as a professional painter. She approached her work with dedication and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and senior management.
In her leisure time, Nique enjoyed creating music and spending time with family and her significate other, taste testing at new restaurants and resting from her workaholic nature. She found joy in working and mingling with coworkers. She was infectious to all who knew her.
Nique was the beloved daughter of Teresa Dixon and Jose Lowery (Melody Cato), Granddaughter to Shirley Dixon and Tracy Stanley, Sister to Lance Mungin, Anthony Mungin, Shawn Mungin Nicole Mungin, and Brandon Bullock, a Niece to Monty Dixon, Ronald Dixon, and Cassandra McElroy -AKA “Neki-Saun”, Vonda Walker, Sheryl Gray and, Special friends Breccia Searles (son Budda), Tracy Puryear and a host of Cousins and Friends.
Nique cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of her loved ones.
It is the desire of the Lowery and Dixon families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
