Doris “Ann” Bowers Hawkins entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022 at her home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She was born to the late George and

Mildred Bowers on September 5, 1960 in Halifax County North Carolina. Doris loved watching Tyler Perry TV and watching gameshows. She enjoyed having family gatherings, preparing special events and holiday dinners. Her Hobbies included: bowling in various leagues and tournaments across the country, playing bingo both in person and with the virtual Facebook bingo crews, planting her gardens, as well as trips to Rosie's! She was a loving Mother, Aunt, Sister, and Friend. She could truly light up a room with her presence and infectious smile! She was preceded in death by her siblings Helen, Curtis, Frank, Robert, George Bowers, Maggie Williams and Eva Wooten. She was loved by All! Hawkins, Grandchildren, Qu’Shel, Kevin, and Ke’Onna that she raised as her own. Three Brothers: Gene Bowers Sr. of Hampton, VA, Johnny Bowers (Deborah) of Hampton, VA, Linwood Bowers of North Carolina, 4 Great Granddaughters, Husband George, and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
