Crystal Vera McKoy, 26 of Newport News, Virginia, passed away suddenly on August 31, 2023. She was born on November 27, 1996, at Fort Riley, Kansas to Walter B. Mckoy and Vernetta A. Hollier.
Crystal attended Phoebus High School in Hampton, Virginia and Woodside High School in Newport News, Virginia, but graduated from Tabb High School in York County, Virginia. Crystal continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia where she received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and graduated Cum Laude and Honors College.
She worked at the PPD, Thermo Fisher Scientific Lab in Richmond.
Crystal had a smile that could light up a room and from an early age, she had a flare for her own unique style.
She was adventurous with a real zest for life. She was an ambassador for the Outdoor Adventure Program at VCU.
Crystal had a heart of gold and was very passionate about making this world a better place. #reduce-reuse-recycle
When Crystal went home to be with our Lord she was greeted by Dwight L. Hollier Sr. her maternal Grandfather.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Parents: Vernetta Hollier and Walter B. McKoy (Debra) of Hampton. Grandparents: Vera Hollier, Walter S. McKoy (Edna), and Catherine McKoy, Siblings: Chauniece Roberson, Tanisha McKoy, Corey McKoy, Kirsten & Daniel Logan, and a host of uncles, aunts, the special bond she shared with her nephew Zymeir Roberson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
It is the desire of the McKoy- Hollier family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
