Ms. Carolyn Lee Bernard was born in North Carolina to the late Arthur Lee Bernard and Annie E. Moore. She attended public schools in Newport News, Virginia. Carolyn was an inspiration to life. She was a fun loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to dance and always was the life of the party.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brother Herman Rouse. Left to cherish Carolyn's memories are daughters Monica Hill (Tony) of GA and Willnett Evans (William), sons Phgero "Maurice" Bernard (Tiara), Rash'd Bernard and Jermaine Bernard all of Newport News, VA. Her grandchildren Jeremiah Bernard, Tevin Bernard, Jeremalski Bernard, Mariah Bernard, Prettier "She She" Bernard, Kevin Bernard, Ieisha Bernard, Tony Bernard, April Bernard, Phgero "Maurice" Bernard, Rash'd Bernard, Rashaun Bernard, Jamarr Bernard, Jer'mani Bernard, Jariyah Bernard and Jayvion Bernard will cherish her memories also.
Carolyn is also survived by her siblings Raymond Rouse (Diane)of Washington, DC, Noreter Arrington (Larry) of Smithfield, Linda Dawson an Sherra Gray (Greg) and Michael Adam all of Newport News, VA, Walter Dawson (Charlotte) and Cynthia Bryant (Wesley) of Hampton, VA, Rose Bernard, Arthur Bernard Jr., Willis Bernard (Darlene) and Zara Bernard all of Greenville, NC who will also keep her fondly in their memories. Carolyn also leaves a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Viewing for Ms. Bernard will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
Services for Ms. Bernard will take place immediately following the viewing on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church, with Dr. Christopher C. Carter, Sr. presiding.
