Ms. Brenda Keith

Ms. Brenda Keith sister of Mrs. Gwen Frost transitioned on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, in Newport News, Virginia.

Brenda was born on March 13, 1951 in Newport News, VA  to Harold and Alta Moore.  She attended Newport News Public Schools graduating from Huntington High School in the Class of 1969.  She worked for the Noland Company before accepting a Civil Service position as a Key Punch Operator at the Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, VA.  She met and later married Sergeant First Class Herman Keith, Jr. of the U.S. Army.  They had many travels by being a military couple and lived in Louisville, KY while stationed at Fort Knox, KY and later moving to Fort Hood, TX before Herman’s passing in 1976.  Brenda moved back home to continue her Civil Service Career.  She worked at SUPSHIPS, Newport News, VA before retiring on medical disability in 1978. 

Brenda became the caregiver for family members needing assistance because she was retired. She cared for her only niece Misty when she was a young child, cared for great nephew, Langston and later provided care for her father, Harold Moore as a senior. Brenda liked to play cards and watch game shows. 

Brenda is survived by one sister, Gwen Moore Frost, one niece, Misty Frost and one great nephew, Langston McCormick and many cousins and family members.

Viewing for Ms. Keith will be held from noon until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2020 at Hampton Memorial Gardens by Bishop Elect. Dwight Riddick.

Mask are required for entry into C.C. Carter Funeral Home and Social Distancing measures will be followed.
