Ms. Barbara Clayton Obituary

Barbara Jean Clayton, 70, was born April 5, 1953, in Oak City, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her father John Roberson; her mother Ruth Roberson. Barbara entered eternal rest on October 30, 2023, surrounded by family who loved her dearly.

Barbara attended public schools in Oak City, North Carolina.  Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church Denbigh and later  joined Fountain of Life Outreach Ministry.

Barbara worked in the medical field for 20 Years before retiring at the age of 31. She then dedicated her time to being a full time stay at home wife. She found joy in watching her grandchildren and taking them to and from  school in her free time.

Barbara enjoyed to dance, sing and have a great time with her family and friends. She particularly enjoyed her oldies but goodies music. When her song comes on it is always a good time to drop it like it’s hot and shake something. She developed many long lasting friendships over the years at her home, silver hill.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Wanda and her husband Tyrone Costa, a son James Roberson, eight grandchildren Roderick Phillips, Isaiah and his wife Ebony Costa, Kylia and her husband Taevyon Purter, Tyler Costa, Tyneise Roberson, Jayvion Lucas, Israel Roberson and India Lucas. One Great Grandchild, Zoe Costa.  Two sisters, Minnie Cox, and Annie Wiggins.

Among a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

he Clayton family ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers at this time.    

The family of Ms. Barbara Clayton  has entrusted her final care to the staff of C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
