Obituary

Ms. Anita Lucille Fayne, known by most as “Nita” and affectionately called “Skeet” by her family was born in Hampton, Virginia on October 11, 1939. The daughter of Margret Arlene Hawkins and George S Parker. Anita transitioned from her earthly vessel in Marietta, Georgia on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Anita spent her childhood in Hampton, where their Great-Grandmother Rebecca Johnson Hawkins, loving called “Momma”, raised her and her eldest brother George A. “Dink” Parker.

Anita spent her early education years at Union School and later transitioned to George P. Phenix High School graduating in 1957. Upon her graduation, she met her Airman Charlie E. Fayne and was married on May 24, 1958, to which the marriage produced two children, Kathy Fayne in January 1959 and Brian Fayne in March 1960. Although, her marriage took her out of the Hampton area for a short period. Anita later decided to end the marriage and return home to Hampton in the hopes that she would raise Kathy and Brian around family.

Anita worked at Siemens Automotive (Bendix) in Newport News, VA for 30+ years of service where she retired. Anita was a stern, loving and no non-sense woman that was dedicated to her family; she held her friends close and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed help. She loved to laugh; she loved her crabs, a nice cold beer, warm coffee, good music, family cookouts and the Hampton Jazz Festival.

Anita is survived by her children, Kathy Fayne (Atlanta, GA) and Brian Fayne (Hampton, VA) her grandchildren Nicole Shannon (Eddie), Brian Fayne and Maya Conyers as well as six great-grandchildren. She leaves her cousins Rebecca “Ricky” Thompson and Charles “Ronnie” Davis that she grew up with like siblings as well as nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rest “Skeet”, we loved you but our Lord loved you more and needed you home.

It is the desire of the Fayne family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
