Mrs. Simone Otto-Fitzgerald Obituary

Mrs. Simone Otto-Fitzgerald, a radiant light born on January 3,1974 in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, gained her heavenly wings after a courageous and victorious journey with breast cancer.

Simone was the beloved wife of her best friend and soulmate, Anthony Fitzgerald, and the devoted mother of her greatest joys, Aijalon and Samoya Fitzgerald. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her loving father Linroy Daniel, brother Lloyd Daniel (Decainer) , her sisters Selene, Kenesha, and Nikisha Daniel She has been reunited in eternal peace with her precious daughter Lauryn Fitzgerald and her mother, Violet Daniel.

Born and raised in Charlotte Amalie, Simone moved to Newport News in 1999, where fate and faith led her to meet Anthony while working at AAFES. Their love story became the foundation of a beautiful family and a life lived with laughter, strength, and joy.

Simone’s passions were many, but none greater than cooking. She turned her gift into ministry, feeding not only her family but also friends, government workers, and even the legendary go-go band EU. Every dish she created carried the spirit of her Caribbean heritage, inspired by her mother’s recipes and love. In 2023, she officially launched VIO’s Caribbean Kitchen—her dream business named in her mother’s honor—sharing flavors that touched hearts as much as taste buds. She dreamed of expanding into a food truck, spreading her island warmth and hospitality far and wide.

Simone also found joy in dancing, traveling, and serving faithfully at her church. She knew how to party, lived with grace, walked by faith, and fought with resilience, ringing the bell twice in triumph during her cancer journey and meeting each challenge with unshakable courage and a smile.

To know Simone was to be loved, fed, and uplifted. She never met a stranger, never met a recipe she couldn’t master, and never gave less than her whole heart. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy of love, flavor, and faith will live on in every meal shared, every memory made, and every life she touched.
