As she slept peacefully at her home, the angels descended from Heaven to get one of their own, Peggy Ann Banks Tunstall on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Peggy was a graduate of Carver High School and after 20 years of service, she retired from Farm Fresh Foods and Pharmacy. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and served in several ministries. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her sons, Alvin Tunstall (special friend, Donnamarié Ante) of Philadelphia, PA, John Tunstall III (Mary) of Smithfield, VA and Kevin Tunstall (Luz Marina) of Bristol, VA; daughters, Sharon Tunstall of Suffolk, VA, Lisa Frey of Manassas Park, VA, and Delcenia Wright (Allen) of Hampton, VA; one brother, Hezekiah Banks, Jr., (Corine) of Newport News, VA, one sister, Phyllis Stringfield, (Alverse) of Hampton, VA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will take place Monday, May 10, 2021 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 521 North Avenue, Newport News, VA. The Celebration of Life service will occur after the viewing. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the service is limited to family. Interment is immediately following the service at Hampton Memorial Gardens in Hampton, V.A.
