Mrs. Natalie Ann Plummer Cypress, 40, of Newport News left a hole in many hearts when she passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
Born in Orlando, Florida October 6, 1979, she was raised with her dear sister Christine by her mother Joan, her grandparents and loving aunts and uncles of the extended Vriesenga family.
From age 13 to 15 she lived in Chicago with her father Tom and step-mom Aviva. There she embraced and was embraced by her Chicago family which included loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and her half-siblings Sarah and Daniel Plummer.
Nat returned to Orlando and it was there, following high school, that she met her life partner John Cypress. She moved with JC and their new, young son, Darien, to Virginia where she became a beloved part of JC’s large and welcoming family.
Natalie was a kind and loving person with a big heart, and an easy smile. She was smart and witty, with an artistic flair. She was an animal lover who enjoyed having cats, dogs, birds, even turtles and a pet chinchilla. She was a fabulous cook who enjoyed watching cooking shows and who could turn a little something into a special feast. Being a mom to her adored children was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved big sister, Christine Marie, who died in 2016. Her grandparents Tom and Sylvia Vriesenga, Bernard and Phyllis Walchak of Chicago, Barbara Jean and Louis Cypress, Lucy Lewis and her dear Uncle Charlie Hill.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her loving husband and partner of 21 years John Cypress, her son Darien and daughter Kaylani, her parents Joan Plummer and Tom (Aviva) Plummer, her step-daughters Leanna Tracy Cypress and Jamilla Cypress, her Aunt Patty (Malek) Honano, Uncle Pete (Bev) Vriesenga , Uncle Tommy (Pat) Vriesenga , her nieces Cassandra Feliciano, Chloe and Caitlin Rhoades and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all three of her loving families.
