Mrs. Lucy P. Barrow was born on January 20, 1940, in Franklin County, North Carolina to the late Alexander Hawkins and Lela Hawkins. Lucy P. Barrow “entered into the presence of the Lord” on May 22, 2025, at the Consulate Health Care of Winsor, Virginia. Lucy P. Barrow was affectionately known as “Lucy Pearl.”
Lucy served as a deaconess with a quiet demeanor at Living Waters Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia. She had a good sense of humor. She worked diligently as an assistant with The Department of Social Services located in Hampton, Virginia. She loved dressing up in her favorite attire and her favorite color was royal blue. Lucy enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family. She kept a spic and span environment in which to live. She also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. One of her favorite pass times was fellowshipping with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister Reverend Dr. Alice M. Daniels (Carl/deceased), one brother Samuel Hawkins (Gwendolyn), five children Jewel Davis, David Hawkins (Lorraine), Timothy J. Hawkins, Sr. and Kisha Pettey. She also has eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
It is the desire of the Barrow/Davis and Hawkins families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The family of Mrs. Lucy Barrow has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
