Mrs. Louise J. Jones

Mrs. Louise Juanita “Nita” Jones, 88, passed on from this realm on Sunday, June 6, 2021.  She was born in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Warwick County, VA. She retired from York County School Division after 23 years of service. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, William Wyatt Spencer Jr.; five loving daughters, Sharon A. Wormley and Linda D. Duncan (Daniel) of Newport News, Margaret Paulette Jones of Yorktown, Melba D. Vaughn (Vaughn) of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Carolyn M. Blow (Wendell) of Yorktown; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wyatt Henry Spencer; her mother, Magnolia Taliferro Spencer; her husband, Charles A. “Freddie” Jones; her brother, Herbert E. “Gene” Spencer; her loving daughters, Pattie A. Jones and Charlene J. Gaither; her doting son, Larry Wayne Ligon; and her granddaughter, Michelle L. Jones.

Services for Mrs. Jones will be held at noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church in Hampton.by Dr. Edward Boston. 

Interment will follow at The New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Yorktown VA.
