Mrs. Lillian D. Patterson Obituary
Lillian Davis Patterson, born on October 20, 1938, in Elizabeth City County, Virginia, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2026, at Sentara Careplex in Hampton, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Davis and Mary Lou Davis. Lillian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edloe Patterson Jr., her brother Hurley, and her sisters, Mary (Toots), Doris, and Ethel.
During her early years, Lillian was a resident of Lincoln Park and was devoted to her community and a cherished member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church. Lillian graduated from George P. Phenix High School in 1957 and married Edloe on June 29, 1957. From this union, they had three children: Keith, Pamela, and Alicia.
Lillian poured her love into her family, creating a warm and loving environment for her children and grandchildren. Spending time outdoors in her yard brought her joy. She had a passion for planting flowers and caring for her yard. Her favorite flowers were azaleas and Knock Out roses. Lillian’s meticulous care for her yard not only enhanced the beauty of her home but also created a warm and inviting place for her family and friends to enjoy. Lillian loved listening to music, especially the O’Jays and Teddy Pendergrass. Even after becoming ill, hearing them would bring a smile to her face and have her up and dancing. She also loved Christmas, and her home was always beautifully decorated with her cherished Santa Claus collection. Her love for family made her home more than just a place for gathering; it was a place where family came to express their love, laugh and where lasting memories were made.
Lillian's legacy lives on through her loving son, Keith E. Patterson (Brenda), her daughters, Pamela A. Robinson (Derek) and Alicia J. Patterson, all of Hampton. She is also survived by her sister, Veora, five grandchildren—Keith II, Keinesha, Alicia “Te’Arie” (Camryn), Kay-Cee, and KeShawn—three great-grandchildren, Kendall, Keion, and KeShawn Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
The family of Mrs. Lillian D. Patterson has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
