Mrs. Julia Hill

Julia L. Hill, daughter of the late Julius and Mattie Knight, was born March 1, 1933 in Edgecombe County, NC and was called to her eternal home on April 19, 2022 at the age of 89.  She along with her seven brothers and sisters---Julius Jr. (deceased), James (deceased), Herman (deceased), Margaret (deceased), Laura, Columbus, and Colonious---grew up learning the importance of hard work and the essence of family. 

On July 14, 1951, Julia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kelly M. Hill and soon after moved from North Carolina to Newport News, VA.  Kelly preceded Julia in death on October 19, 2017. From their union four children were born:  Yvonne, Kelly Jr., Lavern, and Brenda.  Julia worked hard being the best wife and stay-at-home mom she could be, nurturing and caring for her family.

Julia accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and later became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Newport News, where she served as an usher until she became ill. 

Julia always had a quiet and sweet disposition; she had a heart for children and ‘personally adopted’ many.  She was always an inspiration to all in whom she came in contact. Truly, a life well lived.

It is the desire of the Hill family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
