Mrs. Juanita Seay was born on August 16, 1943, in Hampton, Virginia, to Henry Congo and Edith Sanders. She was raised in Hampton (Phoebus) where she built a life rooted in family, service and community.
Juanita graduated from George P. Phenix High School in 1962, and continued her education, receiving a degree from the Hampton University School of Nursing.
She was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Hampton. Juanita dedicated many years of her life as a Registered Nurse at Hampton General Hospital and later with Hampton City Schools. She was known for her compassion, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to caring for others.
Beyond her career, Juanita embraced life with personality and flair. She was fashion-forward and always dressed for the occasion, taking pride in her appearance wherever she went. Whether she was heading out to her favorite local spots, enjoying a casino trip, or simply spending time with loved ones, she made sure she stepped out in style. She loved gaming and had a special fondness for pinball machines. One of her greatest joys was her deep love for her beloved dogs, Onyx, Jade and Diamond, who were truly cherished members of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Letitia Seay. She is survived by a son, George Seay, Jr.; and a daughter, Lisa Boothe; a sister, Rita Robinson (James) of Hampton, Virginia. She was a proud grandmother to Darius, Dante Darryl and Delonta, and had eight great-grandchildren. Also, a loving brother-in-law, LLoyd Seay, of Hampton, and a host of other family and friends.
Juanita's life was one of strength, compassion and grace. Her legacy of love, independence, care, and confidence will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
