Mrs. Gloria Brent

Mrs. Gloria B. Brent, was born on February 20, 1939, in Paris, KY. At eighty-two years of age, she entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 14, 2021; the same day as her late mother, Marie Thompson was born.  

Mrs. Gloria attended and graduated high school in Paris, KY. Not too long after graduating, she met the love of her life and became a loving, faithful wife on August 26, 1965, for 56 years to Roy Brent. Mrs. Gloria was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, Hampton, VA. 

 Mrs. Gloria began working in the food service industry all over the country, at the respective bases where her husband (Roy), was stationed at; ranging from Alaska, Colorado, Texas and Florida to name a few. Then after dedicating 15 plus years of service, she retired at Langley AFB along with her husband to take up her passion……SHOPPING!  

 Mrs. Gloria was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother and friend to anybody who needed one. One of her greatest gifts that she possessed and has left us with, was her generosity and altruistic demeanor. She genuinely exemplified what Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-40; “For when I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…”. Anybody who knew her, can attest to her love.  

 Mrs. Gloria is survived by her husband, Roy Brent; her daughter, Shelley Brent-Charette ( Micheal). Her son, Rodney Brent; her grandchildren, Anastasia, Devon and Rodney Jr.; great-grandchild, Aydin and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.      

A formal visitation for Mrs. Brent will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church from 5:00p.m.until 7:00p.m. 

A home-going celebration for Mrs. Brent will be held noon Saturday, November 20, 2021at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr., 

Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
