Mrs. Faye Payne

Mrs. Faye Payne  went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 10, 2018  at her home surrounded by loved ones in Hampton, VA. She was born on October 21, 1940 to the late Edward Brooks, and the late Margaret (Allen) Brooks. She moved to Akron, Ohio after her marriage to the late Erskine Elijah Payne.

In 1979, after a brief illness, she moved back home to Hampton, Virginia with her children to be with her family. Mrs. Payne earned her LPN certificate in nursing, and later began a career at Eastern State Hospital. She retired from Eastern State Hospital after 30 years of service.

Mrs. Payne was a mother to many throughout her life and she opened her heart and home to many.

Mrs. Faye Payne leaves behind three daughters, Tia, Terry, and Sherry, and two sons, Darrell and Dwayne, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 2 grand son-in-laws, and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held for Mrs. Payne at noon, Monday, June 18, 2018 at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service.

It is the desire of the Payne family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
