Mrs. Estelle C (Custis) McQueen, born on December 25, 1941 in Hampton, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord after a long time illness on October 30, 2018. She worked for Hampton Public School for 25 years until retiring in 2005.
Estelle was a member of the Queen Street Baptist Church Usher Board. She loved family time and gatherings and her favorite past times included bingo, going to casinos, and playing deuces.
Estelle is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Maude Custis, two daughters, Janice and Teresa McQueen and six siblings all of Hampton Virginia. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband David W. McQueen of 58 years, daughters, Angela (Robert) Dickerson and Catherine McQueen; sister, Barbara Pankey; brothers, Lloyd (Cheryl) Custis, Charles (Carolyn) Custis (GA), Andrew Custis (NC); brother-in-law Dr. Alfred P. McQueen; grandchildren, Kimberly (Brook) Williams(FL), Robert and Kelsee Dickerson, Devin and Danielle McQueen, and Damien (Tony) McQueen(GA); and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Brook, Jaylan, Nyala, Noel, and Caiden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Mrs. McQueen will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday at Little Zion Baptist Church, W. 1824 Queen Street, Hampton. by Dr. Hallie Richardson.
Viewing for Mrs. McQueen will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Estelle McQueen will lie in state two hours prior to service.
