Mrs. Dorothy Greer Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy M. Greer transitioned to her eternal resting place on September 16,2025. She was born to the late Dan Bragg and Gertrude Bragg on July 25, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Theodore Greer and her sister Lyne Meyers. She attended and graduated from Monroe County Training School in Beatrice, AL. She moved to Boston, MA with her aunt Alice Nixon and met the love of her life, her husband Theodore C. Greer and of this union their one and only child was born, her daughter, Tonya Greer and they eventually settled in Hampton, VA.


Dorothy was a fashionista she loved to shop, especially with her sisters who she loved to talk to daily. She was employed at General Electrics (G.E), NECCO, and K-mart, which she retired from after 18 years of service. Dorothy accepted the Lord as her Savior and was a very active member of her church at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. She was faithful in her service to God and the church as she ushered, sung in the choir and was the Sunday School teacher for many years.


She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Tonya Greer of Newport News, VA; Two sisters Nealie Thomas of Boston, MA and Eva Arnold of Pensacola, Florida; Three brother Wallace Bragg (Nazarine) of Boston, MA, Henon Bragg (Crystal) of Brockton, MA,  and Charles Ray Bragg (Carolyn) of Vredenburg, AL, One special granddaughter Andrea Sales and one special great-granddaughter Journee “Pooh” Sales of Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

It is the desire of the Greer family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
