Mrs. Deborah Stegall-Diggs Obituary

Mrs.Deborah “Fanny” M. Stegall-Diggs departed this life on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the age of 64.  She was born on July 1, 1955 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Roosevelt Stegall Sr. and Naomi B. Stegall.  She was preceded in death by Clarence Donnell Diggs (husband) and two of her brothers, Jimmy Bowens and Michael Stegall Sr.

 

Fanny as she was affectionately known was educated in Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Warwick High School in Newport News, Virginia at the age of 16.  Later on she relocated to Richmond, Virginia and was gainfully employed by Wella Professionals and J.C. Penney.  She furthered her education in medical billing and coding and served as a nursing assistant for a doctor’s office on the Southside of Richmond.  Upon her return to Newport News, Virginia she began employment at Riverside Medical Group as an office assistant and impacted the lives of others with her dependability, likeability and dedication to all of those she came in contact with.

 

Fanny will be sorely missed by many family and friends.  She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, D’Juan M. Diggs (Kisha); Naomi B. Stegall (mother), devoted brother and sisters, Roosevelt Stegall Jr. (Christine), Brenda S. Robinson, Rita (Janie) Frazier and Peggy Parker; Mamie Diggs (mother-in-law), Gaylor Diggs (sister-in-law), Jason Diggs (brother-in-law), five grandchildren, Shaimere, Isaiah, Akira, Raheem and Naima; her aunts Barbara Canty and her husband Lawrence, Sheenqua Magmun and Doris Levere. the Rodriguez family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and co-workers. 

 

Viewing for Mrs. Deborah Mae Stegall- Diggs will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020 from noon until 5:00 p.m. at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

 

Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road Hampton, Virginia by Dr. Kenneth Arrington.

 

It is the desire of the Diggs/ Stegall families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

 

The family of the late Mrs. Deborah Mae Stegall- Diggs has entrusted her final care to the staff of C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
