Celestine Glenn was born on June 11, 1948, to Ulysses Charity and India Charity. She was the baby of the three children born to their union. Celestine graduated from Huntington High School and furthered her education at Norfolk State University. Celestine served her country in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge for her service. Celestine was an angel on earth with her soft voice and quiet demeanor. She was truly blessed and was called home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2020.
Celestine was preceded in death by her mother, India Kee; her father, Ulysses Charity; her husband, Jurgen A. Glenn; her sister, Lena Bailey; and her nephew, Andre’ Artis. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her caring daughter, Pastor Talaya I. Oxendine (Billy); a devoted sister, Ada V. Artis (James); a devoted niece, Pamela Clark; two grandchildren, Najah I. Oxendine and Jabari A. Oxendine; a great nephew, Ronald Clark, III; and a host of other friends and relatives. Celestine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Viewing for Mrs. Glenn will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services with military honors for Mrs. Glenn will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc., by Pastor Talaya I. Oxendine.
Interment will take place on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
