Mrs. Carolyn Lee Wilkins

Carolyn Lee Reed Wilkins, age 74, passed peacefully on May 2, 2019 at the Gardens of Warwick Forrest Nursing home. She was born September 25, 1944 in Newark New Jersey to Raymond Rossel Reed and Catherine Joyner Reed.

She attended school in her hometown and was an excellent student. Her last level of education was as a student at Essex County College in Newark.

Carolyn married Morton Lee Wilkins on August 29, 1987. They relocated to Newport News Virginia. Moe, as he was called proceeded her in death in 2017.

Also preceded in death by Jeanette (sister) Milton (brother) Catherine “Kit” (daughter) Michelle (daughter in law) Patricia (sister in law).

Carolyn is survived by her sisters , Barbara Brooks and Sharon Pryor both of NJ, Brothers Raymond (Sandra) of NJ, Ronald of NJ, Lawrence (Teresa) of NJ, Walter (Maryanne) of NJ, Leonard (Ann) of NJ, James of VA, David (Lolita) of VA, Kenneth of VA., and her children Kevin Michael of VA, Karen Jeanette of VA, Kyle Barry of NJ, and grandchildren Carolyn Taliha, Jaguar (Stephanie), Kashun (April), Kiyona, Diontae, Semiah, Samad, Kayla sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

A home-going service for Mrs. Carolyn Lee Wilkins will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Faith Deliverance Baptist Church, 6116 Roanoke Ave, Newport News, VA, 23605 with Bishop Bennie L. Kingwood Sr., Eulogist.

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

A viewing for Mrs. Carolyn Lee Wilkins will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
