Mrs. Carolyn Gregory

On June 27, 2022 Carolyn Jeanette Gregory was called home to be with the Lord and family in heaven.  Carolyn was born on May 26, 1949 in Newport News, VA.  She attended Huntington High School and then later worked at James Pointe Hospital.  Carolyn loved doing hair “she was mean with a straightening comb.”  She loved her family and making everyone laugh. She will truly be missed.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Gregory; first husband, James David Barnes, Sr.; her parents, George and Rosetta Williams; brothers, Lawrence and Alvin Williams; sisters, Vivian Inell Christopher and Barbara Simpson; her only daughter, Jeanette M. Barnes; and grandson JaKwon A. Barnes.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, James D. Barnes, Jr. (Catina Barnes) and Derrick C. Barnes; Stepdaughters, Tara Mclean, Fredrina Ridgell and April Womack; Stepsons, Frederick and Grant Womack; Sisters, Donna Jean Dudley and Earlene Godwin; brothers, Ronnie and Bernard Williams; Ten grandchildren, John Barnes, Jar’Ke Barnes, Derrick Barnes, Jr., Jasmine McEachern, Eternity Barnes, Desire Barnes, Harmony Barnes and Nylah Barnes; 17 Great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.  

It is the desire of the Gregory family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
