Mrs. Brenda Mitchell Obituary

Brenda J. Mitchell was born on November 9th as Brenda J. Eley in Yazoo, Mississippi, to Eron and Nora Eley, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 13 children of which 6 brothers and 4 sisters also preceded her in death. She now leaves to mourn her brother, Willie George Tipton of Farrockaway Queen, NY and sister Gloria Geneva Singleton of Hampton, Virginia.

Brenda later moved to Farrockaway Queens, NY with her parents. Being the youngest child, she really enjoyed her childhood with her siblings and growing up with her nieces and nephews who were close in age. Later in life after high scholl she married the late James Anthony Mitchell of NY who served in the United States Army and they had 5 children: Taneesha Lavee, James Anthony, Aremessie Shontay, Michael Lamont, and Felicia Ellise, who love her beyond words. She has also gained a son, Mitch, and 2 grandsons, Mark and Daquan.

Brenda was a woman of many talents who worked in several industries, from security, housekeeping, home care, and catering. Outside of her children and grandchildren, she found the most joy in cooking for her family and friends and would have made catering her life career. She loved being active, taking walks outside, playing handball, dancing, listening to music and entertaining family.

She loved her family dearly and devoted her time to care for her late mother, Nora and one of her late brothers WC Tipton. In the last years of her life, she traveled between Newport News, VA, and Greenboro, North Carolina to seek medical care and be of assistance to her daughter Aremessie and her grandchildren as she sought for repentance in truth, keeping the laws and commandments of the Most High through Jesus Christ our Savior.

She is now reunited with her grand Zy'ell and great-grand Elias and Zhoni who have preceded her in death. She loved all her family beyond words and leaves to mourn a ton of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. 12 grandchildren, Jacquell, Breyell, Lea, Armiyah, Armaree, Jayden, Jada, Allahjah, Azariah, La'naya, and Cornell Jr. and 2 great-grands Donis and Aliyana.

It is the desire of the Mitchelll/Eley family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
