Ms. Barbara A. Wynn, of Hampton, VA, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Born on January 28, 1939, in Smithfield, Virginia, Barbara was the daughter of Norman and Magalene Goodwin. She attended Isle of Wight Training School and later made her home in Hampton, VA, where she spent her life nurturing others.
Her greatest calling was caring for children in her in-home daycare, a mission she joyfully fulfilled for over 30 years. Barbara treated every child who came through her home as one of her own; her impact was so profound that most children affectionately called her “Grandma.”
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Pamela Brown (Edwin), Sonya Munn, and Kim Wynn; her brothers, Marshall Goodwin (Barbara) and Joseph Collins Robinson (Lucy); and a host of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a legacy of love shared with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Magalene Goodwin; her sisters, Ernestine, Rosa, Alma, and Marjorie; and her brother, Edwin.
Barbara never met a stranger. Her warmth, wisdom, and open heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her in Hampton, VA, and beyond.
It is the desire of the Wynn family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Mrs. Wynn's, service will be live streamed on C.C. Carter Funeral Home & Cremation Facebook at time of service.
