Mrs. Anya Rose-Miller Obituary

Life, Love & Laughter

On June 29, 2019, God in his infinite wisdom, called Anya Rose Miller to come home to be with Him. Anya was born in Sumter, South Carolina on July 29, 1959, to the late Mr. Theolander and Rosemell Rose.

Anya accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a member of the Ivy Baptist church. She loved praising the Lord and was a former member of the young adult choir. She was also a member of the Amicae/Friends of Zeta, Newport News Chapter

Anya was educated in the Newport News public system and graduated from Ferguson High School in 1977. She worked for Newport News Public School Transportation for over 32 years, and she was a mom, mentor and friend to many. She worked as a Bus Driver, Coordinator and Master Trainer.

She was the type of person who can light up any room. She was a natural born comedian and loved to make people laugh. She loved her family, her extended family and friends and enjoyed spending time with as many as she could. Not only was she a comedian, Anya was a woman of great character and didn't mind helping, mentoring, counseling, or just being a real friend. She had a one of kind God given talent and she used it well. While her light has gone out here on earth, Anya is shining bright and making people laugh in heaven. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will always live on in our hearts.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Reverend Sharena "Candy" Rose.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Lefty Miller; one son Breione Rose (Shawniqua); three sisters Rebecca Rose Hines, Faythe Rose-McFadden (Bruce), and Helga Rose Stokes (Larry) all of Newport News, VA; three brothers Woodrow Rose of Burner, NC, Winfred Rose and Theran Rose (Tina) both of Newport News, VA; two stepchildren Quinton Hunter and Quinesha Miller both of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren Jalen Rose, Bria Rose and Que Hunter all of Newport News, VA; one sister-in-law Daffie Miller-Branch (Quinton) of Newport News, VA; three brothers-in-law Renard Miller (Valerie), Kwane Kenyatta (Joffia), Lawrence Miller (Terri) all of Newport News, VA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
