On Tuesday, March 16, 2021 God in his omnipotent power called our beloved Ann as she was affectionally called, from labor to rest. He saw the burdens became too hard to bear, she heard the Master’s call, and to this world she bid farewell. Andria McCray Clark was born on October 23, 1961 to the late Elijah McCray Sr. and Murlene (Jackson) McCray.
Andria McCray Clark attended Hampton City Public Schools and graduated from Pembroke Hight School Class of 1980. She continued her education and studied Accounting at Thomas Nelson Community College. Ann was employed early in adulthood working alongside her mother at Lawson Seafood Company. Mrs. Clark worked for many years as a Sale Associate & Assistant Manager with Kmart Supercenter, and Miller Mart, before serving for over twenty-five years as a Senior Housing Technician with Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the City of Hampton, until retirement in 2019. Mrs. Clark was a very active mother, grandmother and role model in her community, serving as Team Mom, and Cheerleading/Dance Coach with Woodland Wildcats Organization, as well as Phoebus High School Marching Band Booster Club.
Throughout her life Andria Clark was active a member of Church of Jesus, where she was baptized under the preaching of Dr. Merlin Ford and Pastor Clarence Johnson.
Andria was united in Holy Matrimony, to Wilbert Clark and out of this union, they were blessed with four children; daughters, Malika Dennis, Fanchon Clark, and Yolande Clark, one son; Rasheed Clark, and a special nephew she raised Dale McCray Jr., three grandchildren who she adored, Khaleel Dennis, Samiia Dennis, and Kymoni Mobley.
Andria, leaves to cherish her memories, five siblings; sister Dellajean McCray and four brothers, Elijah McCray Jr. (Mary), Lawrence McCray, Quinton McCray, and Dale McCray Sr. and a special sister-in-law Mrs. Jacqueline Black of Chestertown, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, who she loved. Ann also leaves to cherish her memories are special friends Phyllis Seaborne, Osta Jenkins, Gigi Cox, Angela Scott, Sharon Osborne, Angela White, Thomasene Kelley, Carolyn Piatt Powers, Kissie Pettaway, and a special god sister Gwendolyn Bryant and many, many more who she loved and adored.
The family of Andria McCray Clark would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to each one of you for all your acts of kindness, love, & support shown during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Kruger and Virginia Oncologist Associate Medical staff and Riverside Hospital & Hospice Care Medical Staff for their care of our wife and mother Andria Clark. A walk through viewing for Mrs. Clark, will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services for Mrs. Clark will held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at The Church of Jesus, 630 Anderson, Ln. Hampton, VA. by Pastor Clarence Johnson.
Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
