Mr. Zubiat Cyril Moody, 67, of Newport News, Virginia, transitioned in the quiet of his residence from earth to his eternal home on June 21, 2020.
Mr. Moody was born October 24, 1952 to the late Emma Braxton-Foster, as an only child, who was truly loved. He was also reared and preceded in death by his grandmother, Nevolia Mobley of whom he had an endearing love for.
Zubiat was always involved and supportive of his family and friends because they were important to him. Although he was an only child, he was never selfish, due to the love in his heart.
As a member of Huntington High School Class of 1971, Zubiat was known for his excellence in Science and Math. He later earned his Culinary Certificate from Job Corps as a cook and bartender. Those skills were used at several places of employment to include Strawberry Banks, Picadilly, Lance Vending and James River Country Club. He also worked private parties and served as a bartender for many individuals displaying a loving and professional attitude. After giving his all, Zubiat retired from James River Country Club.
As a member of New Grafton, Zion and World Victory Baptist churches, he used his excellent tenor voice to sing Glory and Honor to the Lord. When he sang at funerals and weddings, his gift had people standing to give praise to God! He leaves behind a host of relatives, many loving friends and co-workers.
A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date.
