With hearts forever changed, we announce the passing of Zaier Christian Ellis, age 17, who was called home on November 27, 2025, Born in Newport News, Virginia—the city where raised, and deeply loved.
Zaier was a gentle soul with a quiet strength, a young man whose respectfulness and hard-working spirit shone brightly in everything he did. He lived with a selflessness far beyond his years, always ready to lift the burdens of others, always caring in ways that reminded those around him what kindness truly looks like.
From the time he first held a football at five years old, Zaier found joy and passion in the game earning the nickname “Beastmode”. The field became his place of focus and pride, and the Baltimore Ravens his team of choice—cheered with loyalty and heart.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Lena Ellis; his beloved sisters, Zalia Ellis and Zurie Ellis; and his caring grandparents, Ray and Sharon Ellis. Their love for him is boundless, and the memories he leaves behind will remain a light in their lives.
Zaier’s time here was far too short, yet he touched the world with a grace and goodness that will live on in every heart he reached. May he be remembered for his warm spirit, his dedication, and the love he so generously gave.
It is the desire of the Ellis family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The family of Mr. Zaier Christian Ellis has entrusted his final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
