Mr. Willie Sawyer Jr fondly known as Willie Jr to family and Cutter to friends, was born July 22, 1944 in Newport News Va. He attended public school in Newport News, and served in the United States Army as a master cook. He took a special interest in art and poetry. He was a wood floor finisher and master painter.
He was a very keen dresser, and took fashion to a different level. In his early and later years he loved singing and music. He would often tell stories that would WOW EVERYONE.
He was the youngest son of the late Mary Sawyer and Willie Sawyer Sr (Ann Sawyer). Also preceded him in death, daughter Nicolette Carter, Son Phillip Crittle, grandson Larry Sawyer, Great-grandson Xzavion Lawton, (Boonchie) and Damonie Sawyer.
He leaves to cherish his four daughters, Yvonne J. Thompson ( Raimanda), of Newport News, Annette Sawyer of Newport News, Antoinette Sawyer of Newport News and Michelle Darby (Cedric ) of Newport News. Two sons, Andre Dorsey of Hampton Va. and Eric Hubbard Newport News . He also leaves two brothers Johnnie Lee Wiggins of Waverly Virginia, William Sharps (Corliss) of Newport News Va, and one sister, Diane Sharps Lewis of Hampton Va. Also a special neice Marquita Hubbard and a devoted friend Calvin Walker. He leaves a host of many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, cousins, family and friends.
It is the desire of the Sawyer family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
