On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Willie Anthony Lynch transitioned from his earthly home at the Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport News, Virginia.
Willie was born to the late Gwendolyn Lynch and Hubert Platt on July 1, 1968 in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his early education in the Hampton Public School System and graduated from Hampton High School in 1996. Shortly after graduating, Willie became employed with Pizza Hut where he pursued a career and later went on to become a General Manager at one of the local franchises.
Willie was a fun-loving, good-hearted man who loved his family, (especially the children), dogs and good music. He believed that hard work was the key to achieving his life's goals. A comedian in his own right, Willie had a crazy sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He was the "go to" person in the family that could always be trusted to keep your secrets; he never uttered a word to anyone! Willie was also quite the connoisseur of fine cuisine as he loved to eat good food! He left an indelible imprint branded in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
Willie was preceded in death by his mother; Gwendolyn C. Lynch, maternal grandmother; Rachel L. Lynch and Charles Shine (like a father).
Left to cherish warm memories are his brothers; Mr. Hubert Lynch of Charleston, SC and Mr. Pernell Lynch of Charles City, Virginia, sisters; Ms. Gwendolyn Lynch, Mrs. Theresa (Marcel) McCoy and Shelley Ames, all of Hampton, Virginia and Cherrelle Scott who is like a daughter. Additionally, Willie is survived by his nieces; Jaleesa and Shauntie Lynch, Jessica McCoy, Jasmine, Alexis and Kayley Lynch, nephews; Darryl, Tyre, and Brayden Lynch, three great nieces, Carmen, Amira and Blessing, and one great nephew; Darryl Jr., and other cousins and friends.
