Mr. Willie Melvin Finch Jr, affectionately known as “Teddy” by family and friends, was born September 4, 1959 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Willie Melvin Finch Sr. and Eunice Alston Finch.
He loved his family and always brought love, laughter, a sense of humor, and an impeccable fashion sense to every occasion.
Willie was a 1977 graduate of Warwick High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for several years. He worked as a sous chef at Red Lobster in Stone Mountain, GA. Upon returning to Virginia in 2009, Willie worked as a Sales Associate at Casey Chevrolet until his health declined.
He attended Cornerstone Worship Center International where he worshipped under the leadership of Dr. Gerard Ruff. He faithfully transported his mother, the late Eunice Finch to church every Sunday. After her passing, he attended Pray First Mission Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Lathaniel Kirts where he served as the drummer.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Melvin Finch Sr., and Eunice Alston Finch. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Jasmine Finch, Darien Price, and 4 grandchildren all of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Lorne Finch of Newport News, VA; Ronald Finch (Cheryl) of Hampton, VA; sisters, Sharon Finch of Sacramento, CA; Karen Mason (Vernon) of Newport News, VA; former wife Michelle Finch of Cleveland, OH; special friend Pamela Thompson of Hampton, VA; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
It is the desire of the Finch family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
