Mr. William Forrest Lawrence Sr.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the Lord, being yet merciful and full of grace, called William F. Lawrence Sr home to eternal life and rest.

William Lawrence was born on November 6, 1966, in Newport News, VA to Agnes Ray Lawrence and the late Louis Swilling.

He was educated in the Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Warwick High School in 1984. After high school, William had a strong passion for motorcycles and cars where he learned how to ride and repair all types of motorized vehicles.

William also worked at the Newport News shipyard as a shipmen where he supported the military and later worked as a customer service technician at Auto Zone in Newport News, VA.

William accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He also found love at an early age, got married and together they had two handsome sons. William loved life and loved his family dearly and no matter what life threw at him, he ensured his family’s needs were met.

William was also in a severe accident early in his life where he became disabled. But if you knew William, nothing could stop him from spending time with his family and pursuing his passion of repairing cars.

William was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Sarah Meekins and Robert Lee Brown, father, Louis Swilling Sr., brothers David Lawrence, Robert Moore, Richard Brown, Louis Swilling Jr, Michael Swilling, Vincent Swilling, Stephan Swilling, and sisters, Mary Houston, and Joan Fullwood.

William leaves behind to celebrate his life and forever cherish his memory, a loving mother, Agnes Ray Lawrence, two sons, William Lawrence Jr, of Hampton, Virginia and Mario Lawrence of Dallas, Texas, his fiancé, Tameka Price (Jasmine, D'Andre, Demetrius), grandchildren, Jonah and Kataleyah Lawrence, sisters, Sarah Brown (Roderick) Columbia SC, Rebecca Johnson, Brenda Hicks (Bill), Shirley Swilling (Tony), Annette Nelson (Frankie), Angeleah Jones (Josef), brothers, Ray Lawrence, Ernest Lawrence (Sherry), Mark Lawrence (Arwilda), Stacey Lawrence, Zollie Lawrence, Nicholas Lawrence, Frederick Swilling, Linwood Swilling, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends
