Mr. Vernon Lee Bellamy, 52, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Newport News, Virginia. Vernon, affectionately called “Biggie” by family and friends, received his early education the Newport News Public School System and later graduated from Warwick High School in the Class of 1985.
He worked for Angelo’s as a cook/waiter and was also employed at several other local businesses. Vernon loved to dance and was quite the jokester who enjoyed making his family and friends laugh; he also developed a love for riding bikes.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Willie Arthur Bellamy, brothers; Willie and Daniel Bellamy, nieces; LaShaunda Perry and Sarah Carrington. He is survived by his daughter; Michelle Carrington and son; Corey Redcross, sisters; Annie Brown of Conyers, GA and Shirley A. Bellamy of Hampton, Virginia. Additionally, Vernon is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Celebration of Vernon's life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12 Noon at C.C. Carter Funeral Home located at 3314 Roanoke Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for all acts of love and kindness shown to them during the absence of their loved one.
